Volunteer Opportunities and Upcoming Events on the Front Range

We have a TON going on here preparing for our 17^th season of winter programming! Lots of volunteer opportunities and events that we need you at!

Please read below for all the amazingness both the events, volunteer opportunities, and youth mentoring positions:

We NEED You Here: Events/Activities

1. Wahoo’s Donating Sales in September:

All of September: PLEASE go to Wahoo’s Fish Taco (Blake St. location) during 4pm-10pm any and everyday of September as 10% of sales will go to SOS Outreach. It’s fantastically delicious and you will support SOS!

2. Denver Pirate Leagues Dodgeball to Benefit SOS Outreach

Sep-Nov: DODGEBALL! Thanks to Denver Pirate Leagues, SOS Outreach receives a portion of each team’s
registration fee. They are in need of dodgeball teams. Cost is $125 per team and the season is expected to start next Tuesday. Go to http://denverpirateleagues.redzoneleagues.com/ to register your team.

3. Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night to Benefit SOS Outreach

Sept. 22: Quiz For A Cause: Trivia at The Pioneer Bar starting at 8pm that will benefit SOS Outreach. It will cost $5 per person. 40% from the entry fee will be given to the winning team along with some sweet prizes from SOS Outreach. The more people there the better for you and SOS Outreach. PLEASE COME!

4. Absinthe Movie Premiere portion of each ticket to SOS Outreach

Sept. 23: Absinthe’s “NowHere” Premiere at the Esquire Theater is also benefitting SOS Outreach.
Tickets are $10 per person with $2 of each ticket going to SOS Outreach. Doors open at 7pm. Here's the trailer. SICK!!!!

FREE SNOWBOARD BOOTS

To amp up this event, we are giving out FREE Van’s snowboard boots to first five entrants. Here's what
the boots look like.

5. Fort Collins- Absinthe Movie Premiere benefiting SOS again!

Sept. 25: Absinthe “NowHere” Premiere: Lory Student Center (Ft. Collins). Tickets are $10 per person with $2 of each ticket going to SOS Outreach. Doors open at 7:30pm. Here's the trailer. SICK!!!!

6. WAHOO’s FOR SOS! Winter Season Kickoff Celebration!

Oct. 1: This is a party to celebrate the upcoming season at the Wahoo’s on Blake St. There will be awesome music and prizes to giveaway. Again, a percentage of sales that night will go to SOS Outreach. Please come and party with us as we celebrate the upcoming year.

We NEED Your Help: Volunteer Opportunities

1. Absinthe Movie Premiere- Denver

Sept. 23: We need volunteers to be at the Esquire at 6:15pm. You will be helping at the door with tickets and informing people about SOS Outreach.

2. Absinthe Movie Premiere- Fort Collins

Sept. 25: We need volunteers to be at Lory Student Center (Ft. Collins) at 6:45pm. You will be helping at the door with tickets and informing people about SOS Outreach.

3. THIS UPCOMING WINTER

If you are interested in helping out again this winter, we would love it! We don’t have a schedule yet (we arestill planning dates right now), but please go to https://secure.civicore.com/sosclient/ and fill out a volunteer form. If you are a returning volunteer, please fill out “Returning Volunteer Form.” Your password will be your birth date or “fall.”

Volunteer Training

As always, we will need you to come to a volunteer training before you go out on the hill. We are still finding a location, but please mark November 3 as a tentative date.

4. STILL LOOKING FOR YOUTH MENTORS/SHERPAS THIS SEASON

We are still in NEED of youth mentors/sherpas for this season. It’s very part-time at about 80 hours for the season; you get to ride with youth once a month on the hill, attend their service learning projects, and call once a week to see how they are doing.
