Staying Sustainable in a bad economy

I get asked all the time how SOS is doing in this economy. I have a simple answer of the good news bad news story. Donations are down significantly, programs are up and we have been able to out run the wolf pack with Americorp Vistas. At the end of this month, SOS will have 9 full time Vistas saving us nearly $500,000 in staff expenses. Without their help, it would be difficult. We have cut expenses and attempt like all great organizations, focused on increasing quality programing. For example, we continue to bring great opportunities for our longest students who desire the best in leadership training.
