A nonprofit building character in youth through outdoor adventure

SOS Outreach to offer winter programs at Ski Cooper!

Greetings friends of SOS,

SOS is proud to announce that it will be starting winter programs at Ski Cooper in Leadville, CO. SOS plans to roll out its multi-year “University” curriculum at Cooper. And we are looking for local outdoor enthusiasts interested in serving as a youth mentor (Sherpa) for area youth involved in the program. This is a great opportunity to share your love of the outdoors with youth who would otherwise not have such opportunities.

A bit more about about who we are as an organization - SOS Outreach is a sports-based youth development organization. Our goal is to help build character and self-esteem in underserved youth through outdoors activities. We partner with youth-serving agencies and resorts to provide multi-day programs that incorporate a set of core values (courage, discipline, integrity, wisdom and compassion).

As mentioned before we are in the process of hiring for Youth Mentor (Sherpa) positions. Please see below for a job description.

•If you are interested in applying for a Sherpa position please email your resume, cover letter, and two letters of reference to dbenhorin@sosoutreach.org.

•If you are interested in volunteering please email Dan at dbenhorin@sosoutreach.org.

Full Belly Fundraising with Mountain Area Taco Bells!

Starting May 26-June 1, if you buy a combo meal from one of the following Taco Bell locations in Colorado (Eagle, Frisco, Glenwood Springs, Rifle), $1 will go to SOS Outreach. Last year Taco Bell raised over $3,000 through this effort for SOS programs and its hoping to double it this year. If you are near one of these Colorado locations over Memorial Day weekend, stop in, fill your belly and help some local kids get outdoors.See More
