A nonprofit building character in youth through outdoor adventure

This month my experience is incredible for the reason that we are starting the university program and I'm also starting to work on my Senior Thesis Project. This project will include my experience of doing the university program and how is different from the Learn to Ride program.
For the University program we have to do ten hours of community service; Hanhaniah and me all ready started by doing a five hour service day. This service day was a pumpkin festival and it was very fun to work there. There we worked with kids by making Pumpkins hats and we also worked selling pumpkins to the public. This service day was not so bad at all because it gave us experience at a working skill and we also got a free pumpkin.
This Tuesday Hanhaniah, Mark and me registered for the university program. Last year I raced $415 for me to do the SOS program and is a good felling to now that the money that i raced will help us pay for the three of us go to University program and I thank the people that donated all that money for us to do this incredible program.
This month I also took on a big responsibility and decided to be a mentor to a student named Azariah that was interested to work with SOS and wanted to let people know more about SOS. Azariah and I came with a project idea to let people know more about SOS and to help get more gear donated. One thing that we also talked about was another meeting with his teacher to see if he can continue his internship.
In Denver Big Picture HS we have a thing called Exhibition every quarter and this month is the end of the quarter we started to do exhibitions. What exhibitions are is that you present your work in front of a group of students and teachers and after your done presenting they tell you what you did great and what you need to work on. This is some thing interesting because this year I am going to talk about my internship experience and how it is to be a youth mentor.
Some goals that I want to accomplish are that I need to get more involved with the programs and make videos of the participants doing programs. Another goal that I have is to get all of my service days for University program done and be able to go snowboarding and start my project.

Starting May 26-June 1, if you buy a combo meal from one of the following Taco Bell locations in Colorado (Eagle, Frisco, Glenwood Springs, Rifle), $1 will go to SOS Outreach. Last year Taco Bell raised over $3,000 through this effort for SOS programs and its hoping to double it this year. If you are near one of these Colorado locations over Memorial Day weekend, stop in, fill your belly and help some local kids get outdoors.See More
