Joey's Experience at SIA

A note from Joey Vergara, 7th year SOS participant and Junior Sherpa, on his experience at the SIA Snow Show:

I had the opportunity to join SOS Outreach in reaching out to different corporations at the SIA convention this year. Overall, the experience was amazing. I got to meet a lot of big people in the industry as well as talk to new companies that just started. It was a great opportunity to be able to help represent SOS to all the different companies like Volcom, K2, Optic Nerve, and Zeal Optics. I was given the opportunity to meet Chelsea from Zeal Optics, which was awesome because not only did I get to learn more about their goggle technology but she was generous enough to offer me and a few others a pair of Zeal Optics goggles.

I feel like it was really helpful for them to see and hear from someone who has been in the program and benefited from their generosity. This experience has also helped me improve my ability to talk to new people and be more confident and that really showed in the following interviews that I had with different job opportunities. I was more than happy to help out and would be more than willing to continue to spread the love in the future.
