SOS Outreach International

A nonprofit building character in youth through outdoor adventure

If you ask a Junior Sherpa why they do what they do, it's common to hear "Because I want to give back." If you ask me why I'm a Junior Sherpa, I would say the same thing. However my answer is not because I lack panache or creativity, but because I really mean it.

SOS Outreach has helped me grow as a person. I remember being a timid 8 year old who dreaded taking any risk. That changed though when I joined SOS and dared to have courage on the mountain. The results of learning courage ranged from learning to snowboard all the way to making new friends. Without a doubt, all the core values that SOS promotes are engraved in me and have made me a better person. Indeed, they have shaped me into who I am today.

I am a Junior Sherpa because I want to help that shy student out there be courageous, have discipline, integrity, wisdom, and compassion. I want to share my experience with others. I want to help students be succesful in life through these core values. Above all, I want to give back.

This group is a place where you can find up dates and new info about the trip. It is also a great place to talk to other members about the trip and write about all the preparations you are doing.See More

Full Belly Fundraising with Mountain Area Taco Bells!

Starting May 26-June 1, if you buy a combo meal from one of the following Taco Bell locations in Colorado (Eagle, Frisco, Glenwood Springs, Rifle), $1 will go to SOS Outreach. Last year Taco Bell raised over $3,000 through this effort for SOS programs and its hoping to double it this year. If you are near one of these Colorado locations over Memorial Day weekend, stop in, fill your belly and help some local kids get outdoors.See More
