Leadership Style

The leadership style I recently have used is Lassiez-faire.  I was with a group doing a lab a week ago.  Like the description for the style says, there wasn't really a leader, but when anyone in my group had a question or needed help with some chemical equations, they would ask me.

Why I am A Junior Sherpa

There are a many reasons why I am a Junior Sherpa.  The first two reasons are more for myself, but the last (and probably most important) is more about other people. The first reason is that I like to continue participating in SOS even after completing Year 4.  Being a Junior Sherpa is the next step (like moving from Year 1 to Year 2). Second, I reason is that I learn a lot by continuing with SOS.  With increased responsibility, I get pushed out of my comfort zone.  Working with other people is…See More

At the Core

"This takes the morning circle of love to a higher level. They each give their own definitions, and attach an image for the value. Shows how simple it is to find core values through one's life, and in just one day of riding."

Ride Day 2!

Saturday was ride day number two. It started out great, with two of the group already there before me. Although there was some sad news that 2 people in our group will not joining us again (one was injured, another had a wrestling tournament). Another member was going to be late. Two (and one more later) was small, so we joined up with another group. First run was a great start. Everyone turned in a definition, and then we discussed plans. At the top, we quickly strapped in, and went. About…See More

Draft mission statement

Seek to understand the world by aspiring for knowledge.

It is still a draft because I can't figure out how to add the rest of the words I want, and make them flow smoothly.

iMatter

The iMatter video is simple, but conveys the message beautifully. It starts by showing the possibilities for the future, and then turns to a much more hopeful attitude. Instead of worrying or dwelling on the bad things that happen, one can take action, starting with little actions.

Full Belly Fundraising with Mountain Area Taco Bells!

Starting May 26-June 1, if you buy a combo meal from one of the following Taco Bell locations in Colorado (Eagle, Frisco, Glenwood Springs, Rifle), $1 will go to SOS Outreach. Last year Taco Bell raised over $3,000 through this effort for SOS programs and its hoping to double it this year. If you are near one of these Colorado locations over Memorial Day weekend, stop in, fill your belly and help some local kids get outdoors.See More
