SOS Outreach International

A nonprofit building character in youth through outdoor adventure

Hey SOS
- I'm sorta new to this whole thing but am working towards starting a new branch of SOS in Arizona.
Right now I have some good ideas for a few special events and some potential groups to serve.
Any helpful hints, stories of success or failure would good to hear and may help the AZ SOS here run more smoothly.
Resort: Snowbowl (we hope)
Sunrise (maybe)
Group: Yavapai Tribal Youth Group (we hope)
North Point Learning Academy
Mission: Spread the love

Hey Evan -- I was the guy who bought $30 of tickets at your second fundraiser in Prescott, AZ @ the Raven. This El Nino season is shaping up pretty good for us in Northern Arizona (more on the way) and it got me thinking about your cause (in addition to a whole bunch of skiing)

Let me know how I can help -- really. Give me an e-mail at *willwaterman@geemail.com* (remove those two ee's). Another Prescott College graduate and I are heading out to do some skiing for a few days/nights on the North slope of the Kachina Peaks in a week or so. We're also bringing camera equipment along and trying our hand at doing a documentary on this area. Maybe another fundraiser opportunity for your SOS cause if we put it together? (Maybe you could give us a few pointers?)

Toss me an e-mail man! See ya..

Alright, now I remember you. AWESOME! I would love to help you guys out with the documentary and would LOVE to do some skiing with you this season. I will be spending winter block in Kino bay Sea Kayaking but can ride in February maybe mid month. Im not sure what sort of perspective you are aiming for but i have made some contacts with a few Native leaders in AZ who have some things to say about Snowbowl. I may be able to connect you with them. I would love to help promote the documentary and get you guys going in the right direction.

-UPDATE-
Resort- Snowbowl
Group- Club 412 in Flagstaff (15 participants )
When- 2/27/10, 3/6/10 and 3/13/10

The fundraisers went off without a hitch and were a huge success. A big thanks to everyone who came out and showed their support. Extra thanks to Coyte Jo's, and The Raven Cafe for providing a space for this to happen and to Nick DaVore, Sweetgrass Productions, and Powderwhores for giving us all something to dream about and drool over (the movies).

I am off with my Sea Kayaking and Marine Natural History class for a month but am eager to get things rolling and cant wait to get things started.
Till then, keep spreading the love.

Full Belly Fundraising with Mountain Area Taco Bells!

Starting May 26-June 1, if you buy a combo meal from one of the following Taco Bell locations in Colorado (Eagle, Frisco, Glenwood Springs, Rifle), $1 will go to SOS Outreach. Last year Taco Bell raised over $3,000 through this effort for SOS programs and its hoping to double it this year. If you are near one of these Colorado locations over Memorial Day weekend, stop in, fill your belly and help some local kids get outdoors.See More
